Guidelines for Virtual/Online Piano Classes
- Piano lessons are taken weekly for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. 30 minute classes are recommended for younger students. For students over the age of ten, 45 or 60 minute lessons are recommended.
- Tuition fee is charged monthly based on an average of 4 lessons per month and is due beginning of each month. Invoices are sent out via email beginning of each month.
- Classes can be rescheduled with sufficient notice of at least 24 hours. Make-up classes will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time. Cancelled/missed lessons are still charged.
- A month’s notice (30 days) is required for the student to withdraw from the lessons.
- Classes are offered year-round on a regular basis from September to June.. Summer lessons can be arranged for those who would like to continue throughout the summer holidays on a casual basis.
- Virtual classes are done through video-conferencing platforms such as Skype or Zoom. Students need to have accounts on both Zoom and Skype and have access to both platforms during the live sessions. A fast reliable Internet connection and a modern device such as a laptop, desktop, or tablet with advanced audio and video capabilities are required for online classes.
- Access to a functional keyboard instrument such as a full-size digital piano or a fully working acoustic piano (preferred) is required before the start of the lessons.
- Lessons are customized according to students’ interests, goals and needs.
- Students can choose to study recreationally or to take examinations to formalize their learning by obtaining official certificates.
- Certification can be obtained in both theoretical and practical subjects from various music examination boards such as RCM, ABRSM, TCL, and LCM.
- A free trial session is offered to all incoming students upon request.
